School Holiday Fun with Food - Nourishing Treats Hands on Workshop
School Holidays are upon us once again!
As a Mother and a Health, Nutrition & Wellness Coach I place a lot of importance on nourishing the minds and bellies of my two children. I have a real passion in providing food that not only tastes good but more importantly, supports good health - the two go hand in hand really. Most kids aren't going to eat something purely for its health benefits so we need to get creative and show them that the foods that support good health, a healthy gut and good immunity can be REALLY delicious too. I'll be running 3 x workshops over these school holidays. These will be run on Tuesday 8th of April & Wednesday 14th of April at the following times; Thursday 8th of April 2.30-5pm For 5-7 year olds This session is a new program that I'm hosting. This gorgeous younger group will be able to enjoy the inclusion of a movement & mindfulness session ran by Jess from "Hope Springs Yoga Experiences". This younger group will be able to enjoy some age appropriate yoga followed by some simple breathe techniques finishing up with a lovely guided meditation. Following this beautiful session your child will prepare 2 types of some yummy treats that the whole family can enjoy (all other inclusions listed below still apply). Wednesday, 14th April 9.30am-12pm For 8-10 year olds 2-4.30pm For 11-13 year olds These workshops will run for 2.5 hours and will be all about good health & nourishment through food. Children will be encouraged to follow the instructions, prepare the recipes, get their hands dirty and explore different flavours by tasting everything! At Rise Studio, I'll be offering a space where your children can explore new foods and experiment with flavours and food combinations. I'll be offering information on the ingredients we use and will oversee these young minds, bringing together easy to follow healthy treat & snack recipes that they'll be able to try again at home. In my experience, children are much more likely to eat something that they have been involved in making, so providing a space where they can get a measuring cup out, mix, pour and get their hands dirty will not only educate them on "how to make", but will bring a focus on flavour, health benefits and nourishment that will result in a change in mindset. Creating healthy habits at a young age is something we all want for our kids. Of course they're going to want party food and hot chips. Who doesn't?? But knowing the importance of foods that support a healthy body is the message I want to pass on. This experience will reveal that healthy options don't have to be B-O-R-I-N-G and that a healthy balance is what it's all about. We're going to have fun and the kids will leave empowered knowing that they are capable to prepare foods that are good for them and good for the whole family. During our time together you child will:
They'll also receive a Love Being Goody bag that includes:
